The Annunciation of Our Lord (transferred)

March 24 (transferred from March 25) – The Annunciation of Our Lord to the Virgin Mary –

No one can say anything greater of her or to her, though he had as many tongues as there are leaves on the trees, or grass in the fields, or stars in the sky, or sand by the sea. It needs to be pondered in the heart, what it means to be the Mother of God. ~Martin Luther

Note: March 25 often lands in Holy Week or Easter Week, and thus Annunciation Day must be transferred. Usually that is forward, and other calendars have it observed after the Easter octave. This year, the local decision was made to place the day early; our ordo generally follows that of the Church, but there are always local adjustments.
