Organ Update

David Wigton of Wigton Pipe Organs is preparing our organ at his shop in nearby Dryden. Much remains to be done but all three windchests, most of the case, and most of the pipes are present. In this photo the Swell shades have been removed, some parts of the case are missing, and the Pedal facade pipes are wrapped to protect them. It’s obviously a work-in-progress but it gives an idea of what is to come. Another visual change will be woodwork to fill in some of the space above the shorter pipes – “pipe shades” they’re called. So with the caveat that this is “under construction”, enjoy an early look at this marvelous instrument headed our way. Target date: May-June 2019. Stay tuned for regular updates! ~djs
